Unless a Grain of Wheat...
Read out loud John 12:24
'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.'
Keep a time of silence (10 minutes) for the group to reflect on these words.
Read out loud the poem below. Keep a time of silence in which to imagine pictures in your mind for the words in the poem.
My Lord will blaze a trail for me
For he knows and understands my needs.
He will take me to where the grass grows green,
And in the still sparkling water
He will wash my wounds
And my soul shall sing.
He will lead me onward, sustaining
Me when my courage fails,
Holding me safe when my footsteps falter
And my heart shall sing.
Even when the storm clouds gather round me
And the dark wind blows,
When I can no longer see my way
He shall hold the light steady before me
And protect me from all harm
With the strength of his hand.
How blessed am I that the
Lord calls me his own.
I shall live out the number of my days
In the light of his presence.
And I shall sing.....
Draw your pictures and reflect on the experience.
