Sitting at God's Feet
Sit on your heels with the soles of your feet turned up; with back, neck and head straight; hands resting on knees. (This can be uncomfortable or even impossible for some people they can use a prayer stool, kneel upright or sit cross-legged.) This can be a very good, prayerful posture.
Turn the head to the right, then to the left, then up and finally down. You can pray for other people, on your 'right' and your 'left' (West/East, sheep/goats, political right/left); then look 'up' to God in worship and adoration, maybe saying the Gloria:
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Then look down into your heart, as the Orthodox teach, perhaps by saying the Jesus Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ have mercy upon me a sinner.
End with prayer for each other and an opportunity to share the prayer experience.
